One suggestion is contact companies who sell services and ask if you can sell their service for them. Sometimes popular affiliate programs like these have just way too many people trying to sell their service. Because of the lack of need for major investment in capital assets and stock, both affiliate marketing and dropshipping are fairly low-risk pursuits. You will still need to invest in marketing strategies and if you don’t make returns on your investment, you can and will lose money. Its completely possible to have good margins and lots of research will help you find a better supplier. Try to keep a really good relationship with your supplier(s), add them on skype/facebook, get their phone number and treat them like a business friend!
In an affiliate marketing business, you only have to promote the affiliate offers of the network you have joined. In comparison with dropshipping where you have to cater to customer support, affiliate marketing doesn’t have any of those issues. Given that I am still in reading and preparation phase, I am mainly interested to overlap my niche with real life interests so I could have motivation to produce content on regular basis. Two that I am highly interested are PC parts and Fitness. I am aware they are too general subjects with lot of sites doing the same, but my idea is to produce constant review on PC parts, Laptops, Mobile devices, Accessories all in different categories, create lists like top5 or 10 under XX budget etc. Similar approach I would use if I I decide to go with Fitness path and divide content training advice, review of fat loss methods, supplementation, nutrition etc. I am aware that this will be a long journey and that it can pass few months before sales start to kick in and that’s the risk I am ready to take. As far as dropshipping, in my experience if you work with product manufacturers and legitimate distributors, profit margins can range between 20%-60%. It really depends on your niche or what products you choose to market. I'm currently receiving 60% profit margins in a particular niche, but having to offer free shipping to remain competitive cuts slightly into the profit, unfortunately.
You can iron out the details of how you will go about your PPC ads for the merchant once you’re granted permission to run paid ads on their behalf. Ask about advertising guidelines (some companies are strict when it comes to advertising and their brand), prohibited keywords, and expectations from each other. Recent corporate changes and folding 2Checkout into a larger company that is involved in payment processing and e-commerce means that the affiliate program can sometimes feel somewhat neglected. But the ability to generate custom coupon codes and the comprehensive knowledge base make 2Checkout a good option for experienced affiliates with an established user base. Why i say run both, you can earn for both and you even can bring some traffic from the affiliate marketing. Like you selling a main product, you can get some affiliate marketing that selling your product accessories. Or you selling the accessories and you put affiliate marketing which is selling the related product. You can earn both and in less risk.
There are a lot of offers available for both affiliates and dropshippers. Generally speaking, dropshippers can choose any items they want to sell from Alibaba and then sell them on their platform as if they were their own.
