The primary advantage of affiliate marketing over dropshipping is that you don’t really have anything to do with the product fulfillment process. You don’t have to connect with suppliers, you don’t need to handle transactions, you don’t need to collect money, issue refunds, or otherwise act like a store. All of that is handled by the actual store. All you do is, essentially, hand people your card, point them at the door, and say “tell ‘em I sent you.”
We promote companies that pay us as little as $10 a referral to ones that literally pay us hundreds of dollars a referral. You might scoff at $10 a referral when you think you can make much more than that per dropship sale, but we make more from JUST ONE LANDING PAGE at $10 a referral than most people make in a year. That is just one landing page – we have hundreds. That is the potential we are talking about. Limitless.

I joined the WA community in summer of last year and while I haven’t made any real money yet besides a little bit from google Adsense I am enjoying the journey. It certainly does seem to be more “hands on” than what I was wanting to do, especially since I keep myself pretty busy and am stretched to post a few blogs a week to continue to try to build my website.
Although you have total control over the sort of items you can market or store, you can't control the delivery. Thus, many times people have complained about the items arriving late. This happens since the supplier delivers the items to his comfort and only offers you the shipping order ID - which you pass onto your buyer to so he/she can track the order.
In an affiliate marketing business, you only have to promote the affiliate offers of the network you have joined. In comparison with dropshipping where you have to cater to customer support, affiliate marketing doesn’t have any of those issues. Customers only get redirected from your website to the ecommerce [merchant] store through the links and you get a commission.
