As a growing business, you may also be looking for a CRM solution, and you'll find that the more advanced email marketing services have begun to crossover into CRM. Mailchimp’s Privacy Policy has similar wording, the sharing of your account information with their affiliates. However, Mailchimp’s Affiliate network pales in comparison and quite frankly, so does their contacts database.
It’s hard not to take the unsubscribes personally at first, especially for service-based business owners pouring their heart and soul into content. When you see people leave your list while you’re still trying to gain confidence and footing, it’s demoralizing. But it also doesn’t matter at all. In fact, it’s great. The people leaving aren’t right for you anyway, so they’re really doing you a favor.

Then, its social campaigns tool helps you create coupons or downloadable resources for social networks to gain new follows and keep your existing followers excited about your products. Tying it all together is Constant Contact's email tools that let you share these events and promotions in your email newsletter and easily add new subscribers to your lists whenever you run an event or promotion.

On the flip-side if you look at Uniqlo, the marketing team behind this has to create these newsletters on a daily basis, on a weekly basis. So it’s a lot more on-going effort that must go into generating these newsletters. Whenever you create a new email, you need to test the email, make sure all the links work properly, make sure that you have all the tracking codes, all the UTM parameters, that the template doesn’t break in different email clients. It’s a lot of on-going work to be sending newsletters on a frequent basis.
In the example above, Birchbox and Rent the Runway teamed up to give Birchbox subscribers a special discount on the rental retailer’s service. It’s a brilliant partnership – both target similar demographics, but neither competes with the other. In this case, Rent the Runway is able to increase its exposure and subscribers with a value-add for Birchbox subscribers (and no potential loss to Birchbox’s business).

Rob, you don’t say who ‘booted’ you from using it. A significant GDPR factor is non-profits having to consent/re-consent those on established email lists and experiencing significant proportions of lists being lost because people miss the notifications or are too busy to fill in yet more forms. However, I have found a few using a ‘one-touch’ re-subscription button that takes immediate effect, without the recipient having to do anything else. It would appear that the re-subscription rate is higher, the easier it is to activate. On enquiry, I was told that they were using mail chimp for this.

Thanks Kelly, Mailchimp have definitely come a long way with their UI over the years, it’s just their service that hasn’t caught up ;) I haven’t had the chance to play around with Pure360 as much as I’d like, but I’ve heard the same things echoed by several friends who use their service. Looking at their client list, I think they’re more aimed at large companies though.
