This is very typical to newsletters. So whenever you check your inbox and you look at the emails you received from different companies, most of the times, those are the emails you’re looking at. They’re just newsletter emails that either went to the entire list or the majority of the list. This is content that is relevant either today, or for the season, or for this week and that also includes special promotions as we saw here earlier, new announcements, things that just got out the door.

Let me start by saying we do not partake in e-mail farming (using automated programs to scour the internet and grab any e-mail addresses they find). Instead, we gather e-mail addresses legitimately, in a manner similar to how one may acquire direct mail addresses – when a person volunteers their contact info. For e-mail, this can happen then a user signs up for a website (think Expedia or Buy.com). The form they fill out often includes a check box allowing users to opt out of receiving e-mails from the site's partners. These websites sell newly acquired names on a weekly basis to reputable e-mail marketing companies.
A very popular email marketing solution, Campaign Monitor provide its users with an easy-to-use drag and drop email builder as well as a drag-and-drop segmenting tool (to create different campaigns with different contacts). Using their email template, users can customise emails to fit their brand. This email marketing tool also offers A/B testing to optimise test subject lines, sender details and email designs.

With the exception of their email templates (which aren’t the most inspiring), everything about Constant Contact is generally quite good. Unlike other email marketing tools, there are no bells or whistles with Constant Contact. You’re probably not going to be blown away by any of their features, but equally, there’s nothing too underwhelming either.
With EmailOctopus, you'll connect your Amazon SES account first to send your emails with Amazon's transactional service. Then design your email newsletters in EmailOctopus' rich editor, and add contacts to your lists. It'll send the email, track stats, and help you grow your list just like any other email tool. Only this time, it's using another service to send the emails and passing the savings on to you.
When thinking about the five types of email marketing described previously, direct sales emails are best for customer acquisition, revenue generation and customer win-back. Direct sales emails may also have a role in your customer retention plan but should not be used as the exclusive means for retaining customers via email communications. Direct sales emails should not be used at all for customer loyalty and brand building email efforts.
Whatever form your newsletter takes, know it’s just one of many touchpoints. But it’s the most direct way to speak to the people who may be your clients someday consistently with no marginal cost. Focus on delivering value to them—even if there’s only 10 of them at first. For most service businesses just two or three new clients for the year is such a big payoff that nurturing a small list of interested subscribers thoughtfully is completely worth it. However, if you sell low cost products then quantity is important and building a huge list would be your goal.
Whilst a bulk email marketing approach can have a positive effect upon click-through rates or overall traffic levels, what is this worth if the traffic is not of the right quality? There is no point spending money on generating traffic that isn’t going to convert into a sale, or whatever your end goal is. Targeted email marketing can deliver the relevant, high-quality traffic you need to improve chances of conversion.
What we liked: They have a great variety of well-designed and (mostly) mobile-responsive templates, with plenty of flexibility to edit as needed. Purchase email marketing software or subscribe to an email marketing service to create and monitor client marketing campaigns. Install email marketing software on your computer to store multiple client email lists, send mass email messages to those on client email lists, create email design templates and conduct market analysis to track email conversion rates--percentage of people who purchase goods and services from an email. Visit websites such as Email Marketing Tree or TopTenReviews to learn more about the features of various email marketing software available. Email marketing services, such as Aweber and iContact, provide the same features as email marketing software, but typically provide additional market analysis tools and design tools needed to help you create effective email.
Wow such a detailed review! I have tried MailChimp before and I found it too expensive. After that i’ve signed up to Mailerlite and got hooked. It’s either free or cheapish depending on your subscribers’ lists. With other email software providers, you’d need to make an investment even if you’re running a small shop or a blog. And let’s be honest, not everyone of us can afford it :)

Sending out emails is a seamless process. Just give your campaign a title, set your recipients, design your email and choose the time to send. Pick from twenty default templates with fully customizable options or upload your own. HTML-savvy users are going to be pleased with the advanced editing option. The editor also lets you add, delete, and rearrange sections of your email like text boxes, images, QR codes, social media elements, and Google Maps.

Thanks Kelly, Mailchimp have definitely come a long way with their UI over the years, it’s just their service that hasn’t caught up ;) I haven’t had the chance to play around with Pure360 as much as I’d like, but I’ve heard the same things echoed by several friends who use their service. Looking at their client list, I think they’re more aimed at large companies though.
Constant Contact is one of the best e-mail marketing service which I always use to manage my email lists, contacts, email templates, and so on. I am an online entrepreneur and I often use e-mail marketing for my job. This tool helps me to execute easy tracking and reporting about my post and activity on different social media for more response. Your summed up scheduling resources are very effective and I believe I can get more benefit to my site by applying these tools for my work. I have already started using MailChimp and I enjoy it’s forever free plan which allows me to send mail and get engaged with 2000 subscriber.
A. Each separate email in violation of the law is subject to penalties of up to $41,484, and more than one person may be held responsible for violations. For example, both the company whose product is promoted in the message and the company that originated the message may be legally responsible. Email that makes misleading claims about products or services also may be subject to laws outlawing deceptive advertising, like Section 5 of the FTC Act. The CAN-SPAM Act has certain aggravated violations that may give rise to additional fines. The law provides for criminal penalties – including imprisonment – for:

A/B test your headlines – For emails going to larger audiences, don’t be afraid to test different types of subject line. If you are contacting several hundred prospects at once via autoresponder, try a handful of different headlines to see which perform best. Software that supports A/B testing in a single batch is even more effective because you can keep all variables static except for the subject line.

CakeMail is an email marketing tool intended for small businesses that makes sending out emails very easy. All users to have to do is title their new campaign, set up list of recipients, give their email a design and select a time to send it out. There is also an advanced editing section which is great for users who are more experienced with HTML. CakeMail can be integrated with Google Analytics so users have access to detailed reports on insights such as open rates, unsubscribe rates, click and bounce.
Carl: Right. And then the other big pros and cons to the two is that, imagine you’re the marketer at MailChimp. You and your team go ahead and create this beautiful email drip. Once you’ve created this drip series, you can basically send it and forget it — in the sense that subscribers that join your list or become customers in a month from now, three months from now, or maybe even a year from now will still get this very viable email drip.
If you've been hacking together email newsletters by abusing your email app's BCC field, Campayn might be the easiest way to break that habit and start sending proper email updates. It can import your contacts from a variety of apps—including your Gmail and Yahoo! Mail address books—and will keep up with all of their info just like a real address book, including their social media profiles.
MoonMail leverages Amazon’s cloud network to send their email and was built with volume in mind. Their free plan however is one of the most restrictive, with just 300 emails a month, and a daily cap of 1 campaign a day (with only 10 recipients per campaign). You’re obligated to use their own domain as the email sender address, and have no access to automations. Support and the ability to edit custom fields is also limited. Plus, we have to say their tool isn’t the easiest to use, with a lot of back and forth required to set up campaigns.
The most advanced email marketing services offer custom workflows where you can specify triggers based on actions (such as opening an email or making a purchase) or on inaction (such as ignoring emails). With these services, you can also set up a series of emails (such as tutorials) to be sent to segments of users, and you can pause or stop a campaign at any time. You can also move contacts into new segments once they have completed tutorials.
MailChimp may be the first email newsletter app you think of it you spend any time listening to podcasts—or have ever seen any of its monkey-themed shirts and hats. But beyond the swag, MailChimp is an app that's serious about helping you send better emails. You'll find everything here from a drag-and-drop email editor to rich subscriber profiles that track your contacts' interactions with your emails.

Want an email and SMS marketing tool that can integrate with your site? SendinBlue is an app that's designed for just that. With WordPress, WooCommerce, PrestaShop, and Magento plugins, as well as an API to connect to in-house apps, SendinBlue can work directly with your eCommerce store to send email newsletters, drip campaigns, and transactional emails from your site.
Let’s face it, your audience wants to see quality content that gives them the needed knowledge and help. Putting in a little effort to send messages that resonate with your target audience will increase your chances of being profitable. Relevant content also helps your email recipients remember your content, and makes them spread the word about it. In the process, making your brand more recognizable and easy to connect with.
A GetResponse Email Marketing Benchmarks report found that the biggest spike in average opens is at 1 AM – but fewer than 1% of all emails are sent then. The highest average click-through rates come through around 9 AM. But again, just 1% of campaigns are sent at that time. It’s likely because we open our emails when we start our day, and again after lunch, and those emails are then top of the inbox.
In 1978, Thuerk sent an email promoting DEC machines to 400 users via Arpanet. What would have then been a complete novelty for recipients (receiving a sales/marketing message direct to their computer’s inbox) resulted in $13 million worth of sales for DEC machines (and a few complaints!). From the start, email launched itself as an effective channel for direct marketing.
Drip is a great tool for eCommerce businesses, bloggers and digital marketers (beginner or seasoned veteran). In addition to integrations with WordPress and WooCommerce, which make it easier for users to add sign up forms and capture leads, Drip has a lot of unique features that make it competitive. These fun features include list groups, smart email segmentation, and even some tools to help users to reach out to certain audiences. On top of that it is also a marketing automation tool, which means it goes beyond email blasts.
What's the difference between them? One-off communications versus prolonged, email-based interactions. For example, email marketing tools are excellent for one-off communications. You can use these tools for the one time you'd like to send someone an automated email response when they join a subscriber list, on their birthday, or when you promote a new product. But marketing automation tools are better suited for prolonged, email-based interactions. For example, you can use marketing automation tools whenever you want to guide someone from a subscriber list to a product purchase. Or you can send thank you emails or send new product promotions—all without having to lift a finger after the workflow is designed.
Send people content they want. Email newsletter services offer features like groups and segmentation to help you make your content relevant to the people reading it. If you're sending different emails for different groups (for example, a nonprofit might send separate emails to volunteers, donors, and the board of directors), then you can ask people to check a box to join a particular group on your signup form. Segmentation allows you to target certain subscribers on your list without assigning them to group. If your store is having a sale, then you could send a campaign only to people near a particular zip code, because subscribers who live in other parts of the world don't need to know about it. You can also segment by activity, email clients, e-commerce data, and more. Sending relevant content will keep your readers engaged, and engaged readers look forward to your newsletter and share it with friends.

What's more, you can setup multiple brands inside your Sendy account. That lets you send emails to all the list you need for multiple products or companies. You can even white label Sendy, give your clients access, and host your own email sending service for each of them. Sendy might not just save you money on sending emails; it might make you money, too.

Address subscribers by name. Personalized emails are more successful. Buffer also suggests to personalize your emails based on need by sending emails that meet different user expectations. This makes them more targeted and more likely to be successful. Some studies show that educating and segmenting your audience will boost your click through rate on emails by up to 50%.
