It’s as simple as this – why would you target your marketing at the 65+ age group, when it was designed for an 18 – 24-year-old audience? If the product has been designed for that audience, so too should the marketing. It’s just simple common sense. Sending targeted emails to the right demographic will, in theory, improve your chances of said demographic buying into the product. This could in turn improve your profits. How could anyone argue with that?
Check out Pure360 – from their website it seems like they have both SMS services and integration with Salesforce. I can’t vouch for their service as I’ve never used it, although I did used to live about two minutes from their offices in Brighton! The other option would be something like Infusionsoft. I’m pretty certain that they have SMS functionality, and would be very surprised if they didn’t integrate with Salesforce.

The first thing to understand about new customers is that they’re in a precarious position. Carl: They’re most likely to open a new emails when they just sign up, versus a month from now, versus a year from now. You’ll see this tail basically, your email rate tailing off in terms of open rates and click rates, and that is expected. So as a marketer, if you see that, don’t freak out. It doesn’t mean that your second or third email are really bad. It’s just a normal user behavior that you’ll see throughout your campaigns.

Unlike other email marketing tools, there are no bells or whistles with Constant Contact. Craft the notice in a way that’s easy for an ordinary person to recognize, read, and understand. Creative use of type size, color, and location can improve clarity. Give a return email address or another easy Internet-based way to allow people to communicate their choice to you. You may create a menu to allow a recipient to opt out of certain types of messages, but you must include the option to stop all commercial messages from you. Make sure your spam filter doesn’t block these opt-out requests.
