Guest blogging has exploded in popularity as a marketing tactic over the last 4 years. It offers a number of benefits, but few better than the fact that, done right, it will drive a large JUMP in subscribers followed by a steady stream of subscribers who continuously opt-in over time.    Here’s the basic formula for how to do it, then I’m going to recommend 2 posts you should go and check out to learn more.

Split testing, also referred to often as A/B testing, is one of the most effective ways to increase your conversions. A split test on your website means to run a randomized test with two or more design variations being shown to different visitors. Any type of autoCAD drafting software will make your design process easier, so pick the program that fits your needs.
Overall, MailChimp remains a solid choice of email marketing platform for small business owners with a small and slow-growing list, or who are just getting started with email marketing and want to test the benefits before opting for a paid solution. But if you’re serious about growing your email list and aim to push quickly past that 2,000 subscriber mark, you’re better off starting from the outset on a paid platform with more comprehensive capabilities.

Send new subscribers a “welcome” sequence. This is the message that you send to people right after they subscribe to your email list. It could contain a link to your lead magnet for an easy download, a thank you for subscribing, or maybe a call-to-action to check out your most popular blog posts. Every email list needs a welcome series: don’t miss this chance to “woo” your new subscribers and turn them into loyal fans!
Double opt-in is generally believed to cut spam complaint rates, though you may see a slight decrease in your opt-in rates compared to a single opt-in set-up.  Both arrangements have their place in the email marketing world – the important thing is that you’re requesting future recipients’ permission to receive messages from your business.  Sending messages without securing this permission is a quick way to get your account banned due to CAN-SPAM complaints.
BuzzFeed – The popular news and entertainment website earns revenue by selling advertisements on their site, so the key objective of their marketing team is to drive more traffic. This one is a little more advanced… unless you use Aweber. If you use Aweber for your email marketing and autoresponders, you might be surprised to hear that they actually have a nifty little feature that allows people to opt-in to your newsletter by clicking to connect their Facebook account. Then, Aweber automatically grabs their email address and name and puts it into your list. Neil Patel tested this a while ago on his blog, QuickSprout.com, and saw a higher conversion rate than on his regular email opt-in form. The primary reason for this is, like the Lead Pages strategy above, Facebook already knows your email so if you’re logged in the form is prefilled with your email address. Thus, it’s just 1 click to opt-in. If you don’t use Aweber but have some extra cash laying around to invest in your blog, consider posting this feature or plugin project as a job on Elance or Freelancer.com. The results could pay for themselves.

Unsubscribe rate. Unsubscribes are always going to happen no matter what, and that’s usually OK because those people probably would never have bought from you anyway. However, a high unsubscribe rate can indicate that you are losing potential customers. Check the following: Why did people subscribe to your list in the first place, and are you delivering on that promise? Is the content of your autoresponder highly relevant to the segment it is being sent to? Are you sending too many sales emails with too little value emails? So how do you build this list of “cold” contacts? If you’re a B2C business and your product is less than $50, you’re probably better off just using one of the other strategies on this list. If you’re a B2B business, this process is 10x easier because the average value of acquiring 1 client is substantially higher. To compile a target list of B2B contacts, start by Googling with specific search terms that will lead you to the websites of your target audience. For example, if you’re targeting US-based dentists, understand that you’re targeting a local business market and start by listing your top ten target cities. If we are thinking like real media companies, the asset is in the audience. So much so that if you have an email list of at least 500 people, you can upload that list to Facebook and Facebook will automatically target people similar to the matches it finds on the network. This feature is called “Facebook Custom Audiences.” You can even target ads to people who have liked your competitors and have had certain buying interests recently. One way to improve email deliverability is to remove unengaged subscribers. If you notice that certain subscribers have not opened your emails or engaged with your company content or site in quite some time, you may want to reach out to see if they still want to be on your email list. If they don’t respond, consider removing them to improve deliverability.
In addition to satisfying legal requirements, email service providers (ESPs) began to help customers establish and manage their own email marketing campaigns. Can’t figure out how to integrate the Gumroad followers into Mailchimp, as Zapier will only export customers to Mailchimp. So my raison d’etre of gaining subscribers by giving away a free product on Gumroad sort of falls flat, unless I manually import the followers in Mailchimp. Am I missing something, or does Nick wait until his followers make a sale, and then their email list is sent to Mailchimp?

There are ways to make money online without a website but I definitely recommend the tried-and-true model where you make your own website. You can start your own affiliate website in three simple steps, with little expense, and without any experience. It’s so easy. In fact, as proof I built 100% of this site by myself without any experience whatsoever.

This strategy is more controversial. I recommend you consider it only if you’re just starting out and your list is small or non-existent. Otherwise the long term consequences of using this strategy will hurt your brand and your business. Note: It’s not spam if you approach the process from the perspective that you’re just going to be super cool to the people in your market by offering to give away some truly useful information for free, and not try to hard sell anything, AND you’re NOT going to do it on a large scale. Some people will disagree with that statement but that’s ok. Here’s how it works:
For starters, don’t send spam. Spamming your email subscribers is an ineffective email marketing strategy because it won’t lead to increased sales or favorable brand recognition and it can destroy your company’s reputation. Consider someone providing you with their email address similar to them inviting you into their home.
