Use personalization. Personalizing the content of your emails (depending on your segment from Chapter 3) will make it so much more relevant and valuable to them. Personalization goes beyond sticking your subscriber’s first name into the email. You need to tailor the actual content of the email to address their needs. For instance, an online retailer will find it much more valuable to read an email with the subject line, “How to build backlinks to your eCommerce store” than just a generic subject line, “How to build backlinks.”
I learned list building from the legendary marketer Frank Kern (you’re welcome Frank!). Frank prefers to write and queue only one initial welcome message and the rest he delivers live as a broadcast message. This does take more work but keeps your messages timely, relevant, and news-worthy. Ultimately it’s up to you on how to implement your list strategy.

One way to improve email deliverability is to remove unengaged subscribers. If you notice that certain subscribers have not opened your emails or engaged with your company content or site in quite some time, you may want to reach out to see if they still want to be on your email list. If they don’t respond, consider removing them to improve deliverability.
You can always use data gleaned from previous emails to make improvements on future emails. A/B split testing is the best way to determine which types of content resonate the best with your audience. Afterall, the overarching goal of your emails should be to get the right message to the right person at the right time. It can be tricky to get all those things to line up perfectly, especially on the first try. That’s why A/B split testing is so important!

The Feature Box is exactly what you see in the screenshot above. It was popularized (invented?) by Derek Halpern of Social Triggers fame. In one case example that Derek wrote about on the DIY Themes blog, implementing the feature box on his website resulted in a 51% increase in email signups. For example let’s assume that you are selling online courses and you run an email marketing campaign using the targeted list from your blog. Another way to apply the Law of Scale other than with guest blogging is by writing and publishing content on other websites where you have your own profile. For example Medium and LinkedIn both give you the ability to syndicate articles on the website. The added benefit to doing it on their websites is you can leverage their high root-domain authority to instantly ensure your content will rank higher in the SERPS (search engine result pages).

I’m sure you’ve heard it before many many times but it’s true. If you have something to sell your list will bring you more income than any other single method. Not only is your list the most important asset you have but it can come with you. What I mean by that is if you have a website on your chosen topic that dies for whatever reason your list will be unaffected by it. You can simply start a new site and move all your peeps over to the new site with one email notification. It sure beats starting all over again.

Few people want to read emails that are addressed "Dear Sir/Madam" -- as opposed to their first or last name -- and even fewer people want to read an email that simply gives them a wall of text. The third type of volume training program that's catching on rather rapidly is the FST-7 Training Program. Most presentations are shared and presented on a larger screen or through a digital projector.
