1) Optin Monster. Big fan of the exit-intent technology of this pop-up tool (as visitors go to exit your site), and the A/B testing functionality – vital for finding the highest clicked headlines/offer and squeezing more out of your email opt-in rate. It’s newly revamped, and I’m loving it. It helped increased my toolbox conversion rate from 2% to 45% which is fantastic. With the exception of their email templates (which aren’t the most inspiring), everything about Constant Contact is generally quite good. Unlike other email marketing tools, there are no bells or whistles with Constant Contact. You’re probably not going to be blown away by any of their features, but equally, there’s nothing too underwhelming either.
At least twice in the article (once in the beginning and once at the end) you should include a call to action to download some sort of bonus / upgrade that goes with the guest post. For example, it can be a checklist, a free report, a template — it can even be a spiced up PDF version of the article. Note: if you have a LeadPages account, this is the perfect opportunity to include links to your offer using Lead Boxes.

Calls to Action Should you tell people to click right away or save the CTA for further along in the email? Should the button/link say “Click Here” or “Find Out More”? When it comes down to getting people to take action (the most important part of marketing), you simply must test a variety of elements to improve conversions, as this is one of the worst elements to leave to guesswork!
Email marketing is a simple and proven strategy to promote your business. It attracts new customers and helps maintain close relationships with loyal customers. There's a long list of email marketing services available today and most operate at relatively low prices, with packages to fit every business size and need. It's just a matter of determining which features and tools you need and how much you're willing to spend.
This is a mistake.  Sending regular messages to your email marketing list conditions your audience to expect to hear from you at certain intervals.  At best, your recipients may come to look forward to your scheduled missives, but even at its worst, sending regular messages gets your audience members used to seeing your company’s name inside their inboxes.
Personally I avoid pop-up boxes since they upset so many people and they’re also so 1990. I believe you never want to start your relationship with your subscribers by pissing them off. But if you disagree you’re welcome to test pop-ups on your site if you like to. Speaking of testing, I highly recommend you test several different opt-in forms on your site and keep track of which one converts at the highest rate. I’ll never forget the fun we had at those NFL celebrations at Regent Street in London, a couple of years back. So many brands and companies build their audiences on Facebook and Google+, which is fine, but we don’t own those names – Facebook and Google do. If we are thinking like real media companies, the asset is in the audience. Getting an email address is the first critical step to figuring out who my reader is and, hopefully in the future, my customer of some sort. If our goal is to drive sales or keep customers happy in some way, we first need to get them as part of our audience. If I have one regret as a business owner, it’s not focusing on building our email list earlier in the process.

Consider this: the average open rate for email is 21.73 percent, while Facebook organic reach has decreased to about 6 percent. Think you might have better luck with Twitter? One marketer found that less than 2 percent of his followers actually see his tweets. So while social media may be an awesome tool for reaching new people, email may take the cake in terms of lead nurturing.
Offering a free tools report is a quite common opt-in bribe. I’ve experimented with it a bit and had success to a limited degree, but there are 2 prominent cases where offering a tools report worked extremely well. Lead Pages Clay Collins and the guys over at Lead Pages recently published a blog post where they showed the highest optin landing page they tested to grow their own email list, and it was a a free tools report. The full video explanation is below, but the jist of it is this. Creating an “optin bride” like this can take as little as 30 minutes, it doesn’t have to be complicated, it just has to be something people WANT. And the reason why it works so well is because people understand the offer (“tools” is a much clearer word than “resources”) plus, it’s a low commitment offer (perhaps why in some contexts, this kind of offer would beat a free course offer).
With the right set of tools, you can build your list cost-efficiently and ensure that it’s relevant, filled with people who have expressed a genuine interest towards your brand. Building an email list will take some time, but it will grow over time and has the potential to give you a lot of business in the long run.
