Prior to any list creation, I identify my top niches to recruit from. As an example, I manage an all-natural cosmetic brand. I look beyond the general niche of beauty bloggers and focus recruitment one level deeper. The more specific the niche I find, the higher conversion rates I see. One recruitment segment I’ve identified is vegan influencers. These micro-influencers may have smaller numbers in followers, but they have knowledge, passion and a sincere connection with their audience that results in an authentic representation of my merchant. Below is an example of one of my top performing influencers. While her numbers do not compete with Kardashian level influencers, her authenticity and engagement surpass those with higher followers.
With the boom in subscription boxes, unboxing videos have become quite popular. If your audience spends a lot of time on YouTube, then partner with an influencer who can showcase your product. The benefit of influencer marketing is how personal it is. Think about how powerful your campaign will be when followers feel as though they’re experiencing the unboxing along with the influencer. They’ll likely be receptive to clicking the link the influencer shares in order to learn more about you and your products.

The top Influencers may balk at this payment model since they are used to pay-per-post. But again, it’s much more likely that micro-influencers will be open to this model. And to sweeten the pot, you should offer an initial “signing bonus” of free products for them to have, and also a higher commission rate unique for these affiliate Influencers. If your usual commission rate is 10–20% for the average influencer, consider going as high as 50%. Even if the ROI isn’t quite 11X, but say 5X, it’s still well worth the commission costs.
The world of the social media influencer offers up a lot of opportunities to marketers. Before committing marketing budget to this, as you would before embarking on any new channel at a cost, it’s best to consider how influencer marketing fits in with your overall strategy and how it will help to achieve your business’s goals. Employing it as part of the marketing strategy can reap great rewards, and open your products up to a whole new audience. After all, if 94% of marketers who have used this technique believe it to be effective, it is worth a try.
There’s not quite as much consensus online with what is a good rate to charge for a blog post. Some say $100 per 10,000 monthly page views (not uniques) is a good starting point, others create a rate based on the number of hours you put into each post (at least $50 per hour for post creation, $100 per hour for photography). I would say take both of these into consideration. If you have 10,000 monthly page views but spend 10 hours putting each post together, that would be just above minimum wage if you went with the first calculation. That’s hardly worth your time. I would say the minimum you should charge for a lifestyle post with beautiful photography is $200 plus $100 per 10,000 monthly page views. It would surprise me if you can spit out a blog post – photography, editing, writing – in under 4 hours and your time is absolutely worth $50 / hour. That’s just my personal opinion though, coming from a very visual (and time-intensive) lifestyle blog.

Here is a high impact method of engagement with influencers: why not invite them to contribute to the design of your affiliate programs? It is not going to be easy. But if you succeed, this will be a great method to create a sense of ownership in affiliates. Of course, if they get involved and then realize that it was all a big public relations hoax, this method could backfire. Like all areas of marketing and communication, you need to come across sincerely.
We hired someone off fiverr to manage our account for a month and our followers went up but engagement is still low and clicks to our site are low. I was wondering where you bought the 100k lifestyle page from? Was it one of those sites that show up in google like fameswap.com or viralinstas.com etc. or off ebay.com or did you reach out to the person via dm to buy it.
Earnings are what matter to most affiliates. Our commissions indicate how we are performing, which is why affiliate marketing is also called performance and commissioned-based marketing. You can monitor traffic to your website in which case Google Analytics will do the trick.
