I’m a big Dan Bilzarian fan. I’m also a Neil Patel fan. But when the “who is Neil Patel” photos were shared with me I was disappointed. I felt cheated. Because what I was seeing was completely different than the brand I thought Neil Patel was. I was confused and didn’t trust what I was seeing. Rather than an educated marketing expert I saw a pig. First person I thought of was Dan Bilzarian, but that wasn’t s good thing only because it was against your brand. I didn’t trust what I saw. I then forwarded the photos to the person who referred me to your program, and she had the same reaction and said “That’s disgusting. I lost respect.” I’m glad you wrote this post to clarify the intention and restore your brand. Conclusion, your bread and butter know you as a marketing expert here to help them grow their business with your expertise and experience. You’ve built loyalty and respect in this way – protect your brand.
Brands like to see an example of the type of post you would create for them so make sure you have some samples posted. If you want to do reviews, review some of your favourite products (even if they’re not sponsored by the brand). If you want fashion brands to give you clothing for outfits posts, make sure you have lots of outfit posts with clothes you already own. If you want to get a hotel to comp your stay as a travel blogger, have posts from previous trips that highlight the hotel you stayed at (even if you paid for it yourself). Brands want to feel confident that the work you provide for them will be in line with their marketing goals and what better way to show them than with some samples of your previous work.
I find some of comments about this post typical excessive western self-indulgence. While I personally don’t believe in objectifying women. I don’t think Neil did any of that. His goal was to figure out how to best leverage Instagram. He looked at some of the most effective users and attempted to duplicate their success. He then, free of charge, shared the results with you and all some of us have got as a response is to scold and berate him. You’re getting free information from the experimentation of a world class expert. Get over yourself. These women are already on instagram, have a following and post attractive photos for the world to see. Neil didn’t coax them into doing something they aren’t already doing. Some of you instead of contributing to the experiment and the conversation by offering constructive advice, such as, “I don’t think this methodology works well with your brand”; instead choose to take the opportunity to put Neil down. The amount of unnecessary self-righteousness is ridiculous. You don’t spend money with Neil, yet you walk away with extremely valuable information and all you’ve got to offer is a huge hissy fit. Get over yourselves.

As you can see, Instagram offers some genuine opportunities to make money online. Whether you want to become an Instagram influencer, sell physical products, photographs, or affiliate products, or become an Instagram expert in the freelancing field, there are possibilities for everyone. Whatever route you choose to go down, make sure you persevere, as the financial rewards can be more than worth it.
In the beginning, the tracking capabilities of affiliate marketing felt revolutionary: marketers were giving trackable links to publishers, with the publisher earning a commission every time a reader made a click or a purchase. Leveraging this newfound transparency opened up an opportunity for publishers to monetize their content without having to sell banner ads and pop-ups, while brands could now have a trackable, results-driven strategy for their marketing spend.
A common influencer marketing advertisement is where the brand sends the influencer a photo or ad and asks them to repost it on their feed. This is effective with getting a specific message out to that influencer’s followers; however, it’s not personalized at all. This specific influencer has built up their following because they like the posts that he or she puts on their feed. They aren’t as likely to engage with a random ad. That said, if the influencer themselves was in this ad then they may be more likely to engage. This is where free products come in.

Once you’ve established yourself as an expert in your field, you can create digital resources for your readers and followers to download for a fee. Travel guides, blogging tips, a fitness program, you name it. If people are loving what you’re “selling” (for free) on your blog or Instagram, chances are you’ll get interest in more detailed, targeting information that you only offer to those who are willing to shell out a few bucks.
From a business/profit perspective, you may think this makes sense…but my guess is you’ve alienated most of the women out there. Guns and boobs? Really? I’m an entrepreneur/adventurer but an envious lifestyle to me wouldn’t just be about buying people. It really isn’t all about money. And while many check him out, many also find Dan the epitome of all that’s vain and wrong with the world. You’ve lost this business subscriber by your association.
The approach you choose should also depend on how much you’re willing to spend. A larger budget allows you to partner with larger influencers who can get you as much exposure as possible. However, influencer marketing is known to be expensive. Another option is to target micro-influencers in your niche who don’t have millions of followers but have thousands of highly engaged followers.
Your customers' photos: Linked to this is the use of User Generated Content on your account. Get customers to share their images of your products and re-gram (download "Repost for Instagram" app to repost your customers' photos). This is a proven successful method of selling and would make a great addition to your account. It also calls for you to start up your own unique hashtag which you can then promote to all your customers: it’s a seriously slick way to make yourself stand out from the crowd. For example, White Castle asks their customers to use #MyCrave to their photos. Now when they see them using that hashtag, they can repost (or regram) their photos to their Instagram account. Here's an example:

Kimberly Kardashian West, American reality television personality and socialite has recently dropped down in rankings too. She fell from the third rank to number six currently with 104 million followers. She’s the most popular member of the Kardashian-Jenner clan on Instagram, posting mostly about herself, her family members, and her brand KKW Beauty.
Social media - can you remember life before Facebook and Instagram, Twitter and LinkedIn? No longer just a place to meet your friends, social media is big business when it comes to advertising and marketing. Ten years ago, social media marketing did not exist; now it has become one of the largest marketing methods to both small and large businesses. As a form of media, it has many different marketing strings to its bow , and one of these is the use of influencers.

Thank you for this amazing post! It has definitely put my mind into set and changed a lot about the way I will post and do things on Instagram. Such a great help! And I did DM you on Instagram. Hoping to hear from you, had a few questions for you there! And another thing…. I love your instagram and blog posts. I have been following for a while now and definitely you are a huge influencer! Thanks again 🙂

I promote many products and services, so I wouldn’t want to use my link to market only one. On the other hand, you might be focused and very passionate about promoting one item. You could add your affiliate link—shortened, cloaked or branded—to your profile or create an account specifically for that item. For instance, you’re passionate about writing and want to promote Grammarly, a free grammar checker, and vocabulary enhancement app. You create an account called @awesomewriter and posts writing tips and motivational quotes. Your bio reads, “Improve your writing with this free software app. Click below to learn more. #Ad.”
Wow, this is just amazing. I read your other post about how to grow your instagram account and I have been using your tips ever since. I am fairly new to instagram ( started begging of February 2017), so far I can’t really impressed anyone with the number of followers but slowly moving forward;) Thank you very much for your posts once again and I looking forward to read new ones. This might sound like a given, but it looks better if you can do your own photo shoot in your own style - it goes back to the word of mouth marketing. If you are the one wearing the product or have styled the picture yourself, it is more genuine and more likely to lead to a sale. @victoriama9 is a great example of this - it’s clear in the images that it’s her wearing the outfits and not a photo from the brand.

Your strategies were really interesting. I hadn’t considered using my instagram quite that way. I actually have been having a lot of success using it to build my list, and not only that – my open rates stay at 40% or higher from the subscribers I generate from it. I grew my email list to about 40K in 6 months with my account running free events – in my case fitness challenges. It has been super effective for really connecting with my audience, as I get to be more personal and interactive with them and offer them great content daily that they engage with and it strengthens the connection they have to my brand. I’m around 118K on insta and I just really love the app. I will say in the past 6 months or so I’ve noticed less engagement than I did last year – and that may be because more and more people are using the app, especially in the health and fitness space. But it is still a great way to build celebrity, establish credibility, connect with and build your tribe and really make an impact on people on a personal level. I can’t go anywhere without being recognized from Instagram, it’s happened everywhere I’ve been in the last 2 years from Austin to Denver to San Francisco – I mean, who is ever without their “life device” aka phone these days….I did a cool podcast about how I’ve been using it for James Schramko a few months back if you want to listen to some of the ways I’ve been using it. http://www.superfastbusiness.com/business/how-to-grow-your-instagram-audience-with-betty-rocker/

A Direct Message on Instagram is only slightly better. It can get lost in the mix of other DMs, and it’s often a crap shoot as to whether they will even read it since if they don’t follow you on Instagram, your DM will show up as a “message request” in their inbox. These are often just ignored. However, Influencers on the micro-level are more likely to check these DMs so for those with smaller followings, it’s worth a shot.
Instagram has provided the platform to food influencers over the world to share their food and nutrition enthusiasm with their followers. These food and nutrition based followers range from world renowned chefs to small cafe owners or even regular people who are just inspired to share their food journey and experience, and have as a result gained a following based on their influence. You can find a foodie influencer for every type of eater. Here we’ve compiled some of the top current food and nutrition related Instagram influencers for you.
I’ve been a struggling fashion blogger for 5 years now. I’m not going to lie, I’ve given up time and time and time again. I think I quit 5 different times and after 3 months I chose to try blogging again. For goodness sakes, I f*[email protected]!ing get invited to New York Fashion Week. I sit on front row of Zimmermann, BCBG MaxAzria, Merissa Webb, etc. but that’s it. Nothing more. I want more. I want to make money off of my blog. I want to grow.

Leveraging influencers tends to provide more marketing possibilities along with additional revenue, conversions, and customers with minimal effort involved for advertisers. Start by focusing on influential publishers that have a reach into the customers or niche you’re looking to tap into and initiate outreach by sharing an opportunity to collaborate. The already existing prominence that influencers have in affiliate marketing is steadily growing and now is the perfect time to incorporate them into your strategy.

The truth is that both influencer and affiliate marketing are powerful ways to educate your target audience and turn them into customers. Not understanding the differences and how each strategy works means you miss out on opportunities to increase your reach and grow your business. You see, it’s not about relying on just one strategy all the time but instead figuring out which one meets your current goals and alternating between the strategies.
Shopping on Instagram allows brands to add shoppable tags to their images. As you can see from the image above, these tags contain a product’s name and price. However, if Instagrammers click on a tag, extra information about this product will be displayed on their screen. Importantly, and super excitingly for eCommerce stores, a View on Website call to action button will also be displayed with the extra product info. This button will link directly to the product page on the brand’s online shop.

The same holds true for video ads. As Mediakix reports, sponsored videos are commented on three times more than sponsored photos. Once uploaded, your post will be labeled ‘Sponsored’ and will show up in the news feed of those users who fit the profile to be the most interested in your offer. This way, Instagram aims to preserve the seamless look and feel of the feed, so that users are more willing to engage with it.
Du weißt, was deinem Publikum gefällt.

Doing affiliate marketing on Instagram has its peculiarities, but the key idea remains the same – you don’t need to sell your own products, being able to promote someone else’s goods and get a commission for each transaction. It takes a few simple steps. Sign up to an advertiser that has an affiliate program and enroll with it. Look at your Instagram profile analytically and decide if you’d like to use a personal account or launch a separate one to earn money through Instagram. Bear in mind that personal accounts seem more trustworthy and credible. Polish your account, come up with a catchy caption and attach a link to a profile. Ready? Now it’s time to make some money.
When you are posting a photo make sure you use relevant tags. Including hashtags means more engagement and likes. To find the best tags for your content you need to research your audience to find out what hashtags they are using on their posts. Posting the most popular tags won’t necessarily help you in the long run. For example, a travel blogger should have travel related tags. If they were to include a hashtag about vitamins it wouldn’t necessarily fit with their content. If you include a hashtag that doesn’t fit with your niche, people will be less likely to engage with you.
