Plus, leverage Instagram Stories, as they are known to be an effective business tool. They allow placing the links of the promoted products on a video. If a customer taps on the affiliate link, they will be redirected to the advertiser’s website where the products are available to buy. Don’t forget to add the location and hashtag stickers to raise the discoverability of your Instagram Stories.

I’m also going to adjust the strategy by stopping the prizes. I will also post more personalizd images on my profile such as of my family and leverage female and lifestyle accounts to promote me. For example, I may do a video Skype session with a female model, create a screenshot of it, and have her post it on her Instagram profile, with a mention of me giving her business or marketing advice.
It’s about damn time. I just saw your @whoisneilpatel a few days ago and wondered “Wait, did he just completely rebrand his IG?” I wondered because I followed your original IG page, but unfollowed it because, well, it’s boring (no offense haha) my friends already annoy me with pictures of their food. However, your whoisNeilPatel is effing awesome! (is this why you shaved your head?)… Living vicariously through that type of page is what keeps me entertained – and motivated. I think this is perfect for personal branding and brand awareness. I’m not in stocks, but i know who Timothy Sykes is because of Secret Entourage & IG, and if I plan to educate myself and learn, i’m going to search around through him first to further investigate my next steps. For me, i’ve grown our IG pages through advertising on other influencers IG page that may have an audience interested in my page. After building to thousands of followers, i’ve done “S4S” which is free and easiest way to grow your following. After a certain time, I just delete the picture of the other page. Just my .02
If there's malware, it won't be because of VigLink. All VigLink does is see if a merchant is in their network, and adds a referral code to the URL if it is. If the original link is to malware, it won't be in the VigLink network. As a general rule, never click on links from people you don't trust—and be skeptical of everything on the internet. If you focus on a niche that has a highly engaged following it is more likely to be successful. @afterpay obsession is one of those affiliates. It is for people who want to shop at stores that offer Afterpay. If a brand has any great promotions, they will let their users know so they can grab the bargain and pay in installments. They have a very active Facebook page but they use their Instagram page to highlight products, but also to encourage brands to work with them.
Most affiliate networks these days offer an option to set a specific coupon code as “forced exclusive” to a specific affiliate publisher. This means that any time that coupon code is used, even if no affiliate link was clicked previously, the specific affiliate which the code is tied to always gets commission for sales where customers use that code. This is especially helpful if customers happen to visit a coupon site or a different bottom funnel affiliate before making their purchase when the Instagram influencer was the true referrer for the sale and deserves the proper credit.
First off lets talk about what DOESN’T WORK, because if you can learn what DOESN’T work first, then you can just spend time looking for all the easy affiliate offerings that WILL WORK for your Instagram following. I teach all of this in my InstaWealth Growth System, so if you want to let me teach it to you STEP-BY-STEP then signup. You’ll be able to watch over 80 easy to follow along video guides. I even update it frequently at no additional cost.
Alternatively, to find niche affiliate programs, a basic Google search will suffice. Then simply sign up with the individual affiliate programs you like the look of and take it from there. There is no limit to how many affiliate programs you can sign up with, but make sure the products you are going to promote are high quality. If you promote products that aren’t up to scratch, you will lose the trust of your Insta-followers, and quickly lose your audience.
I personally use Reward Style, which is a little more exclusive (there’s an application process involved). It’s more fashion based, which is not as ideal for me, and as thus I’ve recently signed up for Link Share (Rakukaten) as well. To give you an idea, I’m making about $100 per month (which is really not a lot) with Reward Style – meaning blog visitors are spending about $1500-2000 through affiliate links. I only link about 20% of my links through them though, since a lot of the home decor / baby items I share on my blog aren’t part of the Reward Style program. Once I’ve had some experience with other affiliate programs and how well they work for a lifestyle blogger like myself, I’ll make sure to update this post.
On Instagram, hashtags are your best friend. They’ll put your post in front of thousands more people. That will earn you more followers, and, hopefully, more sales. Make sure you add relevant hashtags to all posts promoting the product or service. Going back to our health food blogger example, she might add hashtags like #healthyliving and #cleaneating to her affiliate posts.

For GroupHigh’s new monthly spotlight series, we highlight influencers within a certain theme or vertical. This month for #AffiliateMarketingApril, we are focusing on those content creators who are part of multiple Affiliate & Ad Networks and have an understanding of blog monetization. We chose influencer within diverse verticals to showcase this tactic works in many different categories.

Before you can even begin to think about monetizing your blog or social media, you’ll need to grow your online presence. Get readers to your blog and followers to your social media accounts. I wrote up a detailed post on how to start and grow a lifestyle blog here and how to grow your Instagram account here. If you’re looking at a different type of blog or a different social media platform, a lot of what I wrote would probably still apply but I would also google around to see the best ways to grow a blog in your niche and any other social media accounts you’re focusing on.

Kevin Curry, is more famously known by his Instagram and YouTube name “FitMenCook”. As the founder of FitMenCook, Kevin encourages people to live their life in a healthy way. Through his Instagram posts, Kevin shares recipes designed for both men and women who want to eat healthy to maintain the work they put in at the gym. This Instagram foodie influencer has a YouTube channel with over 400k subscribers and over 1.1 million people follow him on Instagram.
If you are just getting started, it is a perfectly fine strategy to come up with special offers for influencers. One such offer could be giving them 5% (or some other number) lifetime commissions on sales made by affiliates who sign up due to them. Another idea could be to consider relaxing some of the terms for followers of these early influencers. Also, you could consider offering exclusive affiliate tools to select influencers.
One thing I found odd with Clickbank is that to register, your IP address needs to match the country of the home address you are inputting. If you are traveling around, this makes it hard to register for an account. My application was immediately denied because although my home address is in Canada, my IP was coming from Europe as I was currently traveling when I applied for Clickbank.

Affiliate Pro Tip: Use new posts in your Instagram feed to remind followers about your Instagram Story Highlights! If you share an affiliate related image, make sure you add a CTA into your caption that asks followers to check out your story highlight for more information! This way  you’re continuously directing traffic back to your affiliate offers.

I think the whole thing with it now being paid for has ruin what it is. It was a chance that every day people got a chance to feel special and be known just for doing what they do…eat out, shop, create etc. Now its just another platform in which experts have taken over and turned into a platform for making money which ruin what it is…. cant just be liked for who you are now people are projecting this “perfect” life bullshit and I’m so over it… Even when celebrities started getting on there it was cool because you got to see a personal side to them and once again they sell out for money (or pay someone to do it for them) and once again just turned into another social outlet taken over by fake and rich people… lame

We’ll use an example of a fictional fashion influencer, and we’ll call her Sally. Sally lives in Los Angeles and has around a million subscribers across her primary social media channels, Instagram, YouTube, and Snapchat. Now let’s pretend that you’re an advertiser for a boutique clothing line with a store located along the coast in Orange County looking to tap into a younger niche market. Influencers like Sally would be great to add leverage to your marketing since her promoting your brand would automatically gain credibility from her subscribers, in addition to increasing your customer base and conversions.

Not too long ago, Instagram added a “story” function to their platform to compete with Snapchat. It has since exploded in popularity and continues to keep thousands of people glued to their phones on a daily basis. Why not take advantage of this feature with the Instagram influencers in your affiliate program? Story posts take minimum effort and there’s a good chance that the influencer will be happy to throw some of these in for you for free if you’re already running a campaign with them.
There are dozens of affiliate marketing programs available which you can sign up with. Therefore, you need to choose the correct niche for you. If you known to trend on Instagram because of fashion, then you should choose a fashion affiliate program. However, if your Instagram followers follow you because of fitness, then you should to go for the fitness affiliate program. In a nutshell, always choose a program which your audience will relate well with.

Affiliate marketing can be a great way to earn money through your blog, especially once your traffic picks up. If you’re new to this concept, it’s essentially a custom URL with a unique tracking code in it. If someone purchases something through your affiliate link, you’ll earn a commission (typically between 5-15%). And it usually doesn’t have to be the specific item you linked. Most of these affiliate programs will give you a commission if someone purchased anything from a particular site within a specific time window after the click through. The great thing about programs such as Amazon Associates, Reward Style, Shop Style and Link Share, is they’re easy to setup and start using and there is no risk involved – worst case scenario you don’t make any money but best case you’ll make a nice chunk of change without anything other than creating a custom link for the product you’re planning on linking anyway. Most will also accept all bloggers regardless of page views. I’m not going to go into too much detail about affiliate marketing, since there’s a ton of good information online already. You can read a great in-depth article about affiliate marketing for bloggers here.
There will always be plenty of brands that reach out to you who don’t have budget beyond simply free gifting. When you’re first starting out, that’s only natural as you don’t yet have as much to offer when it comes to your online reach. Collaborating on a free gifting basis allows you to build up your credibility, your brand, and open the doors for future collaborations because you’re able to showcase that you make a great spokesperson for a brand. But there comes a point when ( a ) the novelty of getting stuff for free wears off and ( b ) you realize that you’re providing brands with something of value and that you should be fairly compensated for that. The expectation by so many brands that influencers do work for free is something that really irks me. In what other profession would you do work and not get paid for it, whether or not you’re just starting out in the industry? Sure, you might just make a little above minimum wage, but you’re definitely being paid something. Yes, smaller brands and those just starting out probably won’t have a huge marketing budget and I still sometimes work on a gifting basis if it’s a brand I firmly believe in and want to build a long-term relationship with. But when companies that have been around for years and have built up a successful brand themselves don’t value you and your work enough to feel you should be paid? It’s a slap in the face, to be honest. Ladies (and gentlemen), please know your worth and don’t feel pressure to do free (or underpaid) work. It’s better to say no and save yourself the time and hassle. When you say no to working for free, you’re leaving yourself open to collaborations with brands who are willing to pay you fairly. You only have a limited number of hours to do work each week and, most likely, you also have a limited number of sponsored posts you want to do each week to keep your Instagram feed and blog from appearing too sales-pitchy. Leave those coveting slots open for brands who value you.
I’m a big Dan Bilzarian fan. I’m also a Neil Patel fan. But when the “who is Neil Patel” photos were shared with me I was disappointed. I felt cheated. Because what I was seeing was completely different than the brand I thought Neil Patel was. I was confused and didn’t trust what I was seeing. Rather than an educated marketing expert I saw a pig. First person I thought of was Dan Bilzarian, but that wasn’t s good thing only because it was against your brand. I didn’t trust what I saw. I then forwarded the photos to the person who referred me to your program, and she had the same reaction and said “That’s disgusting. I lost respect.” I’m glad you wrote this post to clarify the intention and restore your brand. Conclusion, your bread and butter know you as a marketing expert here to help them grow their business with your expertise and experience. You’ve built loyalty and respect in this way – protect your brand.

I have to agree with @Beatrix Willius…maybe I missed the whole point of this experiment. I have nothing against beautiful women promoting anything. (I’m a huge UFC fan) but based on your experiment I have to assume you’re only interested in getting leads from wealthy male entrepreneurs? There are quite a few of us females with lots of cash to invest as well.
